🌾 BEHIND THE SCARECROW 🌾 There’s a lot more that goes into a Penrith Show display than what you see on the day! Our Year 7 Thursday Sport class, guided by Mr Shaw, took on the challenge of designing and building an Elsa scarecrow, complete with Olaf, putting their creativity, teamwork and practical skills into action. And their hard work paid off! 🏆 Their High School Scarecrow took out 1st Place at the Penrith Show! More importantly, the experience gave our students the opportunity to work together, learn something new and take pride in what they created. A fantastic achievement, Year 7! And a big thank you to Mr Shaw for encouraging and guiding the students throughout the process. 💙🌾 Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese

🛍️ YEAR 9 MARKET DAY 🍪 What a fantastic Market Day for our Year 9 Commerce students! Students put their business skills into action, developing, marketing and selling a range of delicious food and treats to the Penola community. Congratulations to our Year 9 students on their creativity, enthusiasm and hard work. It was wonderful to see their efforts come together while also supporting a great cause, with proceeds from Market Day going towards the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal. 📰 FROM PENOLA TO THE WESTERN WEEKENDER ✍️ We were delighted to welcome back former Penola student Keeley, who is now working at the Western Weekender as a Community Journalist. Keeley visited the College to cover the story of St Marys Rugby League Club’s sponsorship of our Rugby League teams, after seeing our recent Facebook post about the new jerseys and the connection with the Saints. Currently studying a Communications degree, Keeley is beginning her career in journalism. During her visit, she took the opportunity to thank Mrs Pittman for the encouragement and support she received at Penola, which helped nurture her passion for writing. We’re so proud to see our former students pursuing their passions and making their mark in our local community. Congratulations, Keeley! We look forward to reading your stories! 📰✨

⭐ FATHER’S DAY LITURGY ⭐ What a beautiful morning at Penola as our community came together to celebrate the fathers and father figures who play such an important role in the lives of our students. Our Father’s Day Liturgy was a wonderful opportunity to pause, give thanks and recognise the love, guidance and support that shape our young people, followed by a delicious BBQ breakfast and time to connect as a community. 💙 A heartfelt thank you to our staff and students who helped bring the morning together, and to all the fathers, grandfathers, carers and father figures who joined us. We are grateful for the people who encourage our students, support them through life’s challenges and help them become the best versions of themselves. Happy Father’s Day to all!

🐄 PENRITH SHOW 2026 🏆 What a weekend for our Agriculture students at the Penrith Show! 🌟 Our students achieved an incredible 36 placings across cattle, sheep, goats, poultry, honey, photography, textiles, timber, cooking and more, including numerous first-place finishes. While the ribbons are certainly something to celebrate, it was the character, teamwork and resilience shown by our students that made the weekend truly special. Our students supported one another, mentored younger students, shared their knowledge, celebrated each other’s successes and continued to work hard even when things didn’t go their way. These are the moments that demonstrate the real value of our Agriculture program. A huge congratulations to all of our students who competed, prepared entries, cared for animals and represented Penola so proudly. Your dedication, humility and willingness to help others made us incredibly proud. We also extend our sincere thanks to Mr Sullivan and Mr Elston for the extraordinary time, patience and commitment they invest in our Agriculture program. From early mornings and late afternoons at the Ag Plot to weekends spent preparing animals, entries and students, so much work happens behind the scenes to make opportunities like this possible. Thank you also to the many staff and families who came along to support our students throughout the weekend. Your encouragement means so much to them. Congratulations, Penola Agriculture Team!
