🎉PENOLA DAY 🎡 What an awesome Penola Day! We began today's events with a lovely Liturgy centred on St Mary MacKillop, our patron Saint and Australia’s first Saint. The liturgy brought everyone together, which was then followed by an energetic Homeroom Challenge that set the tone for the rest of the day. What followed was a joyful celebration enjoyed by students and staff alike. Our students had a blast on the rides and attractions, were entertained by musical performances from our talented students and enjoyed plenty of moments to relax, connect and celebrate with friends. Roadshow sparks fresh interest in construction
A career in civil construction is now top-of-mind for high school students across five local schools. Through the Regional Industry Education Partnerships program (RIEP), global construction company ACCIONA attended Penola Catholic College for the Western Sydney Schools Roadshow last week.

✴️YEAR 8 SCIENCE 🔬 In Science this term, Year 8 has been learning about the ‘Earth and its Resources’. Students have learnt about sustainability and renewable sources of energy. 🏁 SRC MARIO KART COMPETITION ⭐ We recently held the grand final of our SRC Mario Kart Competition. Thank you to everyone who came along to cheer on the players. The racing was fast-paced, shells were flying, and competitors were crossing the line within seconds of one another. It was incredible to see the crowd cheering in support of our racers! Congratulations to Dylan, William, Jacob and Isaac, who were our place-getters and received certificates and canteen vouchers! Thank you to Mrs Vella and our SRC Leaders for running the competition during lunch breaks.

Western Sydney Catholic Schools hold the phone
Student mobile phone use will be banned across 80 Western Sydney Catholic schools from the beginning of the 2026 school year. The restriction presents a positive opportunity to enhance student outcomes, both in academic excellence and wellbeing.

⭐ YEAR 9 MATHS – STAINED GLASS WINDOW ARTWORKS ⭐ Mrs Scarcella’s Year 9 Maths class has spent the past few weeks designing stained glass windows as part of their work on Linear Relationships. This project gave students the opportunity to explore those concepts digitally, while also researching some non-linear relationships. The top digital creations were then brought to life as real stained-glass artworks. Well done to all our Year 9 students on their amazing work! 🎨✨
