From the latest technology to flexible seating options and adaptable class sizes, students will learn how to work both independently and as part of a small or large group depending on the task at hand.

At Penola we continue to transform our learning spaces so they reflect new ways of teaching and learning that engage students and enable them to develop employability skills that will equip them well for future careers in a modern world.
Penola provides students with the perfect spaces for all their learning needs and has a number of specially designed areas that serve specific educational needs. These include:
Junior and Senior Inquiry Hubs
Flexible learning spaces support tailored delivery of learning for larger groups of 7-10 students to engage in Project-Based Learning, or small groups, and one on one deeper learning with senior students.
Stem Design and Learning Centre
An agile learning space with a variety of engaging resources such as robotics, LEGO, 3D printers and more to promote high quality learning.
Our multi-purpose hall includes a performance space that promotes contemporary learning practices. School performances, presentations and celebrations take place here.
Mary MacKillop Learning Centre
This innovative space comprises our library and other resources, and is utilised by our whole community on a regular basis. From student learning to parent information sessions, the flexible space supports a variety of activities.
A well-equipped Technology and Applied Studies (TAS) space that encourages practical, hands-on learning.
Our industry standard kitchen enables our students to pursue vocational courses in Food Technology and Hospitality.
Contemporary Science Laboratories
Our specially designed modern science labs have dedicated tutorial and experiments zones.
Students benefit from access to our well-equipped contemporary fitness and exercise gym.
Students at Penola enjoy making the most of the college's beautiful and expansive site on the Nepean River.
The extensive land on our site allows us to accommodate an agricultural farm with animals kept on site as part of our Primary Industries and Agriculture courses.
Students have the opportunity to be a part of the prestigious ‘Ag show team’ learning about showing and judging animals such as cattle and sheep at Royal Agricultural shows.
Sporting Ovals and Courts
We strive to offer our students a range of activities and sporting opportunities that help to develop the whole person and have a number of open outdoor areas and sports courts available.
