⭐ YEAR 12 NIGHT IN ⭐ Last week our Year 12 students came together for a night filled with fun, friendship, and purpose! They enjoyed a sausage sizzle, games, and a movie, all while learning about the post-school opportunities for social justice participation that are open to them through Vinnies. Best of all, every dollar raised went towards the Vinnies Christmas Appeal.

⭐ PDSSC ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS ⭐ Our Penola Athletics teams competed at the PDSSSC Athletics Championships. Our athletes gave it their all with determination and resilience, proudly representing Penola throughout the day. Huge thanks to Mr Shaw and Ms Viney for their support behind the scenes! 🔍 YEAR 8 CRIME STORY WORKSHOP 🔍 Our students recently took on the role of detectives in the Crime Story - Writing Unleashed workshop. They explored authentic crime scenes, sharpened their questioning skills, and collaborated to create gripping narratives. It was amazing to see their creativity and teamwork in action as they brought their stories to life!

⭐ ROTARY YOUTH VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AWARDS ⭐ We’re proud to announce that two of our outstanding students, Jacob and Joshua, were recently nominated for the annual Rotary Youth Vocational Education Awards, a prestigious event sponsored by Rotary International that celebrates excellence in vocational education across Western Sydney. Jacob was nominated for VET Information & Digital Technology by his teacher, Mr Lee Sullivan for this award, providing this citation in support of his nomination: “Jacob has continuously demonstrated grit, determination and dedication towards his learning. He repeatedly contributes to class discussions and is often the source of help that his peers turn to in order to solve challenging ICT scenarios in class. He has matured and developed into an accomplished ICT trainee.” Joshua was nominated for VET Fitness by his teacher, Ms Lani Brookfield for this award, providing this citation in support of his nomination: “Joshua has demonstrated enthusiasm and has consistently shown a supportive attitude towards his peers, encouraging collaboration and teamwork. His dedication and positive influence were recognised during his work placement, which led to him being offered employment in the fitness industry.” Congratulations to both Jacob and Joshua. ⭐ YEAR 9 FAST FORWARD UNIVERSITY DAY ⭐ Recently, our enthusiastic Year 9 students began their Fast Forward journey with a visit to the WSU Kingswood Campus, joining five other CSPD schools. The day opened with ice-breaker activities before moving into a series of engaging, hands-on sessions designed to help students recognise their interests, qualities, and skills. Students were then challenged to a campus-wide mystery hunt, where they worked in teams to uncover clues and solve problems, drawing on both their individual strengths and collaborative skills. The experience was not only fun and interactive but also gave students a taste of university life. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the day and are already looking forward to next year’s Fast Forward event.
